Phase 1 of the national vaccination rollout saw over 478 733 South Africans in the healthcare sector get vaccinated over a period of two months. Phase 2 of the national vaccination schedule is now open and will aim to complete the vaccination of the remaining healthcare workers, as well as the rollout to citizens 60 years and older.

Pick n Pay Medical Scheme: Covid-19 vaccination rollout | APRIL 2021

The Government’s electronic vaccine data system (EVDS) self-registration portal will soon be open to all South Africans, irrespective of their age or whether they have chronic conditions – the opening date recently announced is 16 April 2021.

We expect that people aged 60 years and over will receive their vaccines as a priority, in accordance with Government’s phased rollout plan. We do, however, encourage all our members and dependants over the age of 18 to register on the EVDS sooner rather than later.

We are proud to be a part of this journey with you and are ready to pay for your vaccine.
